I recently discovered that my SONY TRV-900

play's back DV-CAM tapes???

It can't record on them ofcourse but it it a great money saver because you don't have to rent or buy an expensive DV-CAM deck to load those tapes into fcp.

I tested timecode accuracy and picture and sound quality and everything seems fine.

Sony doesn't support this ofcourse but I think that the reason that it works is because the TRV-900 has the same mechanism as the (professional) PD-100, which is a DV-CAM camera.
